| POOL MEETING |
Next public meeting of the
Pool Users Group is on Thursday 14th of November at 7pm at Fellows
Court Community Centre. Everyone is welcome. We will be reporting
back on the issues listed below and also looking at short term
ideas for the use of the building. We will also be asking for
more volunteers for the Pool Trust who take forward the ideas
from this meeting.

| IMMEDIATE
REPAIRS TO THE POOL BUILDING |
Following pressure from the Pool Users
Group, the Tenants Convention and ShoW - and a public commitment
from Jules Pipe at the last Pool User's Group meeting - the
Council have agreed to carry out the wind and weatherproofing
before Christmas. Estimates are that this will cost about £35,000.
This is in line with the advice from the Council's Buildings
at Risk officer who is gives advice about listed buildings in
the Council's possession.

| BUSINESS
PLAN |
ShOW (Shoreditch New Deal) have agreed
to spend £40,000 on a business plan for the pool. Area
forum representatives at ShOW's board meeting stated that their
forums opposed having housing involved in the pool development.
Micheal Pyner (Chief Exec of ShOW) responded that 'everything
is ruled in and nothing is ruled out' in terms of what the business
plan would consider.

| HAGGERSTON
SRB |
Haggerston SRB have awarded £4000
for a funding strategy to a partnership comprising Shoreditch
New Deal, the Pool Trust and Hackney Co-operative Developments.
|
| OPEN DAY |
We are still planning
to have an open day as soon as the building is fit for use.
Marshall St Baths in Soho (closed for 5 years, built by same
architect) managed to get their pool in the Open House program
and more than 500 people visited over the weekend. Any ideas
for the Open Day???
