Meeting |
The next meeting of the Pool
Users Group to discuss future options for the pool will be on
Thursday June 13th at 7pm at Fellows Court Community Centre
- which is at the corner of Kent St and Hows St on the opposite
side of Whiston Road from the swimming pool.

| Hackney Council
agree to pool transfer |
Hackney Council have agreed in principle
to the transfer of the pool if a sound business plan is forthcoming.

Plans |
Shoreditch Our Way are working on an initial
Business Plan to cover both the capital and revenue costs of
re-opening the pool. This plan incorporates a significant amount
of housing - both private and public.
Shoreditch Our Way are also working with HCD (Hackney Co-operative
Developments) to see if the finances can be worked out in a
way that involves community, sport and leisure use rather than
housing.

Pool Website |
The Haggerston Pool website is now live
at www.haggerstonPool.com. We would like this to be a focus
of information about the pool - so if you have any pictures,
info, views about the pool - please send
them in and they will be added to the site.

Pool Community Trust. |
The Trust is calling an Extra-ordinary
General Meeting to amend its constiution to become a Building
Preservation Trust. This is to enable the Trust to apply for
funding from the Architectural Heritage Foundation to renovate
the pool building.
We are looking for new Trustees - is anyone
interested in taking on this role? More info from Liz

Sport England
|
Hackney Council are also discussing
the future of Haggerston Pool with Sport England.

| Open House
|
With Hackney Council's agreement HCD have
put in an initial application to Open
House program to open the pool building to the public
for the 2 days of the festival on September 21st and 22nd.
